How to Write Well Series: Seminar 2

Description:

The How To Write Well Series is a writing seminar that prepares students of all disciplines for their future careers, scholarship opportunities, and studies, by teaching skills such as economy of language, precision, and introspection through various writing practices. Conducted twice monthly, each seminar will cover a different writing technique, form, style, or skill. Attend as many as you like.


This series will give you tools to hone your creative and critical thinking skills though interactive workshops. Bring a pen and paper or your laptop—we will write in every session.


Prospective Fulbright, Marshall, Mitchell, Rhodes, Schwarzman, and Truman applicants are required to attend at least two workshops.

Fulbright Information Session: How to research your country of interest

There are over 140 countries to choose from for a Fulbright application. Attend this information session to learn more about the process of not only choosing a country, but making meaningful connections to that country before you start your application. USF Fulbright Program Advisor Ms. Lauren Chambers will lead this information session. This information session is the second of three Fulbright information sessions for the spring semester.


This information session will be hosted on Friday, February 24 at 3pm in ALN 252, an interior room in the Grace Allen Building. Please enter through the Honors College main entrance, ALN 241.

Fulbright Information Session: What is the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and how do I apply?

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the largest U.S. exchange program offering fellowships abroad for one academic year to graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, scientists and artists. Program participants pursue graduate or professional study, advanced research, or English teaching. Each year, approximately 1,900 Americans traveling to more than 140 countries receive support from the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.


Attend this information session to learn more about the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and how you will work with USF Fulbright Program Advisor Ms. Lauren Chambers on your application. This information session is the first of three Fulbright information sessions for the spring semester.


This information session will be hosted on Friday, March 3 at 2pm in ALN 233, an interior room in the Grace Allen Building. Please enter through the Honors College main entrance, ALN 241.

National Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

The National Scholarships for Undergraduate Students – Information Session is a resource to learn about scholarly opportunities available to undergraduate students of any class level. These funding opportunities support activities including study abroad, study of specific majors like STEM and health-careers, paid internships, research, critical language training, and graduate school.

A competitive Fulbright U.S. Student Program application requires six to nine months of preparation. Much of that time is devoted to writing (and re-writing) the application’s statement of grant purpose and personal statement.


All student’s preparing to apply for the Fulbright US Student Program current application cycle must attend this informational workshop to learn tips and strategies for preparing a competitive statement of grant purpose and personal statement. The writing-focused session will be led by USF Fulbright Program Advisor, Ms. Lauren Chambers. This information session is the third of three Fulbright information sessions for the spring semester.

Critical Language Scholarship Information Session
